In 1897, George Perret and Louis Berthoud created the company perret & amp; Berthoud in the Swiss city of Le Locle, which specializes in sound watches and chronographs.
A year later, on September 2, 1898, they recorded the company and changed its name in Universal Watch, Le Locle. In 1934, the registered office was transferred to Geneva, the Locle was deleted and Geneva was added to internationalize the company.
